Turkey Sloppy Joe.

I had this recipe set aside for the LONGEST time and I finally got around to making it.  I clipped it out of the Savory magazine that I pick up for free at our local Stop & Shop.  I changed it up a bit as usual and we really enjoyed it!


Turkey Sloppy Joe

1 medium onion
1 tbsp olive oil
1 lb ground turkey
3/4 cup of ketchup
3 tsp dijion mustard
2 tbsp worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/2 cup water
burger buns

Finely chop the onion. In a nonstick pan, heat the oil on medium-high. Add the onion and cook 4 min., until golden. Add turkey and cook until mostly browned, about 4–6 min., breaking up meat with a spatula. Season with salt and pepper.

In a small bowl, combine the ketchup, mustard, worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder. When turkey is cooked, stir ketchup mixture into meat. Reduce heat to low and cook 5 min., stirring occasionally.  Add 3/4 cup water and simmer 5-10 additional minutes.

Scoop the meat mixture onto the buns and then top with your favorite toppings.



I had mine on a potato bun + a side of fresh green beans.



J had more of a taco bowl situation that he said was pretty good.   He also ate green beans 🙂




This was easy to prep while entertaining a toddler and it came together in no time!
