We did our first family workout at the gym today. Well, I took a spin class, J lifted downstairs, and K chilled in the kids care. I was SO SWEATY after my class. The music was good and I was just feelin’ it in there. My watch said I burned like 500 calories in 45 minutes so whatever. I’ll rock that drowned rat look.
We sang to K the whole way home because we didn’t want him to fall asleep in the car and ruin a nap. Ridiculous parent moment, but if you have kids you know that when they fall asleep in the car it RUINS naps for the day. He fell asleep the last 2 minutes so I quick scooped him upstairs and put him down for a nap, successfully thank goodness. Then I whipped up my new go to protein smoothie.
1 frozen banana, 3 strawberries, a handful of spinach, 1 scoop of pb protein power, and milk.
This might be a weird quirk of ours, but we love going to open houses. We aren’t super seriously looking, but we do keep our eye on a lake community in our town. They had a few today so we checked them out. Nothing really struck our fancy though. K fell asleep in the car (UGH) so we decided to take a drive and go for a late lunch.
We found this awesome bar/restaurant called The Helm. We had amazing burgers that I didn’t even get a photo of because we were so hungry. J had a pretty cool looking drink though.
We had a drink and lunch and then headed home. Oh how St. Patty’s Day has changed huh.
We took a quick walk when we got home and then I made a quick batch of chocolate chip flaxseed cookies.
I had two and called it dinner. Ha, living life by the 80/20 rule. Honestly it is the “diet” that works best for me since I like to eat healthy, but girlfriend also loves a good burger. I rarely will eat crap two meals in a row so I guess everything evens out in the end.
Actually looking back, it was a pretty delicious food weekend. Lunch yesterday I had a salad with a homemade turkey burger crumbled on top.
We ordered Mexican food on Saturday night and it was SO GOOD. I always forget how much I love Mexican food until I am actually eating it.
And even K had quite the spread one night.
It was a good weekend. I am currently mentally preparing myself for my first shift on my own without my preceptor. I am trying to think calming thoughts…
Have a happy Monday tomorrow!
