In true R.N. fashion I will give report on my day today. I always think it is fun to read other bloggers do this so here we go!
I guess technically my day started early…
2:29 a.m. K is up and nurses for literally 5 minutes. Right back to sleep.
5:47 a.m. K is up again, nurses for 5 minutes and again right back to sleep. Score! 🙂
7:30 a.m. K is up, not ready to eat but just ready to be awake. J gets him out of his crib and we hang in bed for a bit to wake up. Lots of kisses and snuggles happen during this time.
8:00 a.m. J leaves for work and we go downstairs. I make my Nespresso (half decaf wah) and I check emails while K plays in his bouncer.
8:30 a.m. K looks a little hungry and nurses for a bit. He is so squirmy recently that I can do nothing except hold him. Goodbye scrolling through Instagram.
9:00 a.m. K is getting sleepy so I bring him upstairs for his first nap. Sleeping in SECONDS. I am feeling good about this new sleep routine I am trying with him. This book is no joke.
9:07 a.m. I make the bed, and pick up the house. Throw in a load of laundry. Make breakfast. THIS NUT BUTTER is amazing. It is 15 dollars from Costco (I know a lot) but they rarely have it so when they do I pounce on it. A little yogurt-granola-nut butter bowl to fuel up.
9:47 a.m. K is up and I get dressed in normal clothes. We get some tummy time in.
10:15 a.m. We went out for a quick run around the neighborhood. We have plans to head to my mom’s house this afternoon so I wanted to make sure I got some sort of workout in if I get home too late this afternoon. It was hot and muggy though so after a sweaty 2 miles we were back home.
11:00 a.m. Nursing session.
11:24. a.m. Early lunch for me! Costco chicken salad. Already with a bite out of it because BREASTFEEDING HUNGER. I swear I go from not being hungry to straight up hangry in 5 seconds.
11:37 a.m. K in crib for nap numero dos.
11:39 a.m. I rewarded myself for getting this child to take 2 naps so far 🙂
12 p.m. When he is napping I try to sit down for at least 15 minutes either outside with a book or with my eyes shut. If I don’t I feel like I am go-go-go all day and it is very overwhelming. I find this helps me feel more relaxed. I am reading this book which is very unlike me. I usually stick to detective stories. Not sure what made me pick this up but interesting so far!
12:17 p.m. K is up and we play for a bit.
1:00 p.m. Ah nursing session. Again.
1:30 p.m. Off to Grandma’s house! With a pit stop at Starbucks for a skinny iced caramel macchiato.
2:30 p.m. IKEA with my mom. K slept in the Ergo as we walked around.
4:34 p.m. Home and nursing. I did a Aaptiv workout after that which focused on chest and arms.
5:45 p.m. J rolls home nice and early and I give up the garage so he can do his workout. I run some laps around the house.
6:00 p.m. Shower for me and quick bath for K.
6:30 p.m. Dinner for K and he seems super sleepy so I bring him up to his room. He falls asleep maybe for the night? He skipped his evening cat nap so maybe he was ready for bed sooner. We will see…
7:04 p.m. Wine me.
7:38 p.m. J and I chat about life. How our day was, how many outfits Kaden ruined today, moving to the Carolina’s… ha you know normal stuff. Now I’m just writing up this post and we will probably watch a little Elementary on Netflix and then call it a night hopefully before 10 p.m. True I-am-in-my-30s-style.
Who has the great IKEA near them?? Anyone else have a love/hate relationship with nursing their child??
